Ready, Set, Pitch.
Pitching at any Showcase event this year puts you in the running to win our Venture Challenge. These are the steps you need to take to compete for the Grand Prize this year:
- Online Application: Apply online to present at a Pitch & Panel Showcase. Select “DC” as your city in order to be eligible for this competition.
- Semifinalist Showcases: If you are chosen to present at one of the first two showcases, you will deliver a two-minute pitch to our panel of investors and successful founders and then field questions from the panel. Showcase events typically occur on weeknights and last for 2.5 hours. The panel of experts will select two semifinalists from each of the first two Showcases who will advance to the Final Showcase on September 14th 2017.
- Finalist Showcase: If you win your semifinalist showcase, you will prepare a short deck (10 pages or less), which will be reviewed in advance by the judging panel. Finalists will then deliver an updated three-minute pitch to an all-star panel of industry experts and investors at the September 14th showcase. The winner will be announced after a short deliberation by the judges.
The Venture Committee is an external group formed to review all applicants and select exceptional female founders as semifinalists for the Vinetta Project’s 2017 Showcase Series. The committee is made up of 12 local venture funds and angel investment groups that are committed to advancing women in technology and entrepreneurship
When you apply for our Venture Challenge, our investor committee will review and rate your applications. They will also have the opportunity to mark your company as a potential investment for their fund, and to get in touch if they think they may be interested in investing now or in the future.
